What Parents Are Saying
Changed our entire family routine
Every evening after dinner, we sit together and explore new topics. His teacher even commented on how much his critical thinking has improved. I didn't expect a book to change our family routine — but this one did.
Best gift I've ever given
I bought this as a birthday gift for my nephew and now his parents want one for themselves. He reads a few pages every night before bed and comes to breakfast with questions. That's exactly what childhood should look like.
My grandchildren fight over who gets it next
I ordered one copy for my granddaughter and now all three of my grandchildren want a turn with it. The questions they ask me now — about stars, animals, why things work — are the best conversations I've had in years.
She corrected her teacher last week
My daughter and I pick a topic every Saturday. It's kept us connected in a way screens never did. She came home from school last week and corrected her teacher. I almost cried.
We had to order a second copy
My twin girls literally fought over it the first day. We had to order a second copy. They've gone from watching YouTube for hours to arguing about why dinosaurs went extinct. I'll take it.

No. This is intentionally a physical book. The goal is to replace screen time, not add to it. The tactile experience of a real book is part of what makes this work.
Every order includes a FREE Screen-Free Science Experiments E-Book ($29.90 value) delivered via email after purchase. Extra questions, puzzles, and challenges to extend the curiosity beyond the book.
This is a premium hardcover with full-color printing on every page. Production quality limits each print run to 350 copies per month. When the current run sells out, the next batch ships in 4–6 weeks.
Absolutely. The full-color illustrations and bite-sized answers are designed to engage even the most reluctant readers. Many parents tell us this was the first book their child actually picked up voluntarily. The key is that it doesn't feel like "reading" — it feels like discovering.
It's one of our most popular gifts — for birthdays, holidays, and "just because." The hardcover format and vibrant illustrations make it look and feel premium. Many grandparents order it after seeing their grandchild glued to a friend's copy.
Most encyclopedias dump information. This book is designed to spark curiosity — every answer leads to the next question. The illustrations aren't decorative, they're explanatory. And at 128 pages, it's curated, not overwhelming.

Customer Reviews
He quotes Murphy's Law at the dinner table now
My daughter used to spiral every time something went wrong. This book taught her that setbacks are normal. Last week she failed a spelling test and said, 'That's just Murphy's Law, Mom.' Then she studied and aced the retake.
09/22/2025
The only educational book he's ever finished
I bought this expecting it to collect dust. Wrong. My son reads it in the car, at breakfast, before bed. He quotes it to his little sister. Yesterday he told her, 'If you're scared of messing up, you'll never try anything cool.' He's eight.
09/21/2025She stopped crying over mistakes. Worth every penny.
Getting my son to read anything that isn't a video game manual has been a five-year battle. He picked this up because the cartoons caught his eye — and then he actually read the words. Three weeks later, he's still going back to it.
09/24/2025Changed how she handles everything that goes wrong
Our daughter is the kid who erases her homework until the paper rips. This book showed her through funny stories that mistakes are part of the process. She still erases, but now she laughs about it. That shift is worth more than any grade.
09/24/2025Best gift I've ever bought for a child
Bought four copies for my nieces and nephews for Christmas. Two months later my sister texted me: 'The kids are using Murphy's Law quotes on each other and it's hilarious.' Best $25 I ever spent on a gift.
09/27/2025My son uses it as his problem-solving guide
Every time something goes wrong at school, my son comes home and finds the relevant Murphy's Law. It's become his framework for handling life. His teacher pulled me aside to say she noticed a huge change in his attitude.
09/28/2025Replaced two hours of iPad time immediately
We have a strict no-screens after 7pm rule. Before this book, bedtime was a battle. Now my son reads this voluntarily and goes to sleep happy. The cartoons kept him hooked from page one.
09/27/2025The anxious child finally has tools
My daughter has always been an overthinker. Every small setback turned into a full breakdown. This book reframed failure so gently — through humor, not lectures. After two weeks she started saying 'it's just Murphy's Law' and actually calming herself down.
09/30/2025Worth 10 therapy sessions for our anxious kid
We've tried everything for our anxious son — worksheets, journals, talking sessions. Nothing landed. This book did, in two weeks. The humor makes the lessons stick in a way that direct instruction never could.
09/29/2025My kids fight over who gets it each night
I bought one copy and now my three kids take turns. They argue about whose turn it is at bedtime. I had to order a second copy. When was the last time kids fought over a book?
10/03/2025He finished it in four days and started over
My son finished the whole thing in four days — which has literally never happened with any book — and then started reading it again from the beginning. He says he finds new things each time.
10/02/2025Teaches resilience the right way — through laughter
I've read dozens of growth mindset books and they all feel the same: lecture, journal prompt, repeat. This is different. My daughter laughs, then thinks, then acts. That's the exact sequence that actually changes behavior.
10/03/2025The cartoons are genuinely funny
My son kept reading me the cartoons out loud because he found them so funny. The humor is sharp and totally age-appropriate. It doesn't feel like an educational book at all — which is exactly why it works so well as one.
10/04/2025Already ordered three more as birthday gifts
My son loved this so much that I've now bought it for three of his friends as birthday gifts. Every parent texted me to say their kid won't put it down. It's become my go-to gift for kids ages 8-12.
10/07/2025My perfectionist finally stopped erasing until the paper rips
Our daughter is a perfectionist who made herself miserable. This book got through to her in ways we couldn't. Two weeks in, she said 'Murphy's Law means I'm allowed to mess up' — and we nearly cried.
10/07/2025Three weeks in and still reading every night
We're three weeks in and my son still reads it every night before bed. He's been through it twice now. The short exercise format means he never feels overwhelmed — just curious about what comes next.
10/10/2025The gift that actually got used
I buy a lot of educational gifts that get played with once and forgotten. This one is still getting used six weeks later. My niece quotes Murphy's Law principles in regular conversation now. It stuck.
10/12/2025Turned meltdowns into problem-solving sessions
My son used to melt down over every setback — spilled drink, lost game, anything. Now he says 'Murphy's Law' and actually thinks through what to do next. That shift happened in two weeks.
10/11/2025The humor makes the lessons land differently
I've noticed that when my daughter laughs at a situation, she also remembers the lesson from it. This book figured that out. Every principle is wrapped in a genuinely funny scenario, and she's been applying them ever since.
10/13/2025Best children's book we've owned in years
We have a house full of books and this one gets picked up every single day. My two kids have completely different personalities — one anxious, one stubborn — and both find exactly what they need in here.
10/13/2025My 9-year-old now helps his younger sister through setbacks
My son reads a principle, then goes and explains it to his 6-year-old sister when she's upset. He's become a tiny resilience coach. I didn't teach him to do that — the book did.
10/16/2025Honest: I was skeptical. I was wrong.
I'm usually cynical about educational books because they all promise the same thing. This one delivered. My daughter has genuinely changed how she handles things going wrong. It's not a dramatic change — it's quiet and real.
10/19/2025He asked if Murphy's Law applies to grown-ups too
My son asked if adults deal with Murphy's Law too. I said yes. He said, 'Then maybe you should read this book.' He's ten years old. I read it. He was right.
10/20/2025The cartoons do the heavy lifting
My son is a visual learner who resists text-heavy books. These cartoons carry the whole lesson — he understood every principle before reading a single word. The text just reinforced what the illustrations already showed him.
10/19/2025Printed monthly — order before it sells out
I almost missed out — the batch was almost sold out when I ordered. Glad I didn't wait. My son has been using this as his morning read for three weeks now. Completely different kid at the breakfast table.
10/20/2025The short format is genius for kids with ADHD
My son has ADHD and can't sit with a regular book. This one he can. Each exercise is short enough to hold his attention, and the visual format means he can jump anywhere without getting lost. Absolutely perfect for him.
10/23/202542 exercises and he's done them all twice
My daughter went through all 42 thinking exercises once, then went back and started doing them again. She says she notices different things the second time. I have never seen her engage with any book like this.
10/25/2025The principles are sticking without any effort from us
I expected to have to reinforce the lessons — read it together, discuss it, quiz her. None of that was necessary. She's applying the principles on her own, in real situations, because the stories made them memorable.
10/26/2025Turned a screen addict into a reader overnight
My son watches YouTube for hours if we let him. We started using this book as a wind-down before bed and within a week he was asking for it instead of his tablet. The cartoons pulled him in and the stories kept him there.
10/25/2025She finally understands that failure is data, not disaster
That phrase — 'mistakes are data, not disasters' — is now a household saying. My daughter uses it on herself when she makes an error, and sometimes on me when I make one. Best $35 I've ever spent on a book.
10/26/2025Bought it on a whim. Life-changing is not an exaggeration.
I saw this mentioned by another parent and bought it without much thought. Four weeks later, my son's teacher called to tell me she noticed a significant shift in how he handles frustration. I told her about the book.
10/27/2025My daughter quotes it to me when I'm stressed
I came home from a terrible day at work and complained at dinner. My daughter said, 'Dad, that's just Murphy's Law. What's the next step?' She's nine years old and she just coached me through my stress better than most adults could.
10/31/2025The only book they've ever read voluntarily twice
My kids have never voluntarily read any book twice. This one they've both re-read. My son says the second read is better because he recognizes the situations from real life now. That's exactly what a good book should do.
10/30/2025Helped my anxious child more than anything else we tried
We tried social-emotional learning workbooks, therapy exercises, everything. Nothing clicked for my anxious daughter until this book. The humor takes the pressure off. She learns without feeling like she's being taught.
11/02/2025Now he calls setbacks 'Murphy moments' — adorable and effective
My son invented a term: 'Murphy moments.' That's what he calls it when something goes wrong now. He laughs instead of crying. He thinks instead of spiraling. For that shift alone, I'd buy this book a hundred times.
11/04/2025The hardcover quality exceeded expectations
The book has been through backpack trips, beach days, and one incident involving a spilled juice box. It still looks great. The hardcover is built to withstand children's actual use, not just display on a shelf.
11/02/2025My daughter read it front to back in one weekend
My daughter usually takes months to finish a book, if ever. She read this one front to back in a single weekend, then asked me to order the next Little Atlas book. I wish there was one — I'd buy it immediately.
11/05/2025Changed bedtime from battle to story time
Bedtime used to be a negotiation. Now my son asks to read Murphy's Law before lights out. He picks an exercise, we talk about it, and he goes to sleep calm. This book transformed our entire evening routine.
11/05/2025His teacher asked what we changed at home
My son's teacher sent a note home asking what we'd changed in our routine — she noticed he was handling classroom frustrations so much better. The only change: this book, every evening.
11/07/2025Laughing at problems is a real skill and this book teaches it
I always told my kids to 'just laugh it off' but never had tools to teach how. This book does it through every exercise. They learn that humor is the first step to solving a problem, not avoiding it.
11/10/2025The 28 principles are genuinely useful for adults too
I read the whole book after my son did. The 28 life principles are not kid stuff — they're practical rules I wish I'd had at 8 years old. I caught myself applying them at work the following week.
11/10/2025Best screen-time replacement we've found
We've tried audiobooks, board games, puzzles — nothing replaced screen time like this book. The visual format and short exercises match the pace of digital content. It's the first analog thing that competes with a screen.
11/10/2025Six weeks in and we're already recommending it to everyone
We've bought three copies since the first — one for my sister's son, one for a birthday, one as a backup because our copy is getting well-worn. We tell every parent we know about it.
11/12/2025The reluctant reader that finally found his book
My son is an eight-year reluctant reader. Every teacher has tried to find 'his book.' This is it. He read 40 pages the first night without being asked. His teacher is getting a copy for her classroom.
11/12/2025He asked why Murphy's Law isn't taught in school
My son asked why they don't teach this in school. I told him some things are too important to leave to school. He thought about that for a minute and said, 'That's Murphy's Law, Dad.' I have no idea what I'm raising, but I love it.
11/16/2025The exercises work — I've seen real behavioral change
I was skeptical that a book could change how my daughter handles failure. I'm not skeptical anymore. Six weeks in, her meltdown frequency has genuinely dropped. She uses the language from the book in real situations. It works.
11/14/2025Bought it for my son, learned from it myself
I sat down to read it with my son and ended up reading the whole thing myself. The principles are sound — practical philosophy wrapped in humor and great illustrations. My son and I now reference it in conversation regularly.
11/19/2025Worth more than double the price
I paid $35 for this book. My daughter applied a principle from it that helped her handle a serious friendship conflict at school. She used the exact language from the exercise. At that point, this book paid for itself a thousand times over.
11/18/2025My twins use it as their arbitration system
When my twin boys argue, they now reference Murphy's Law principles to decide what's fair. They invented their own conflict resolution system based on a children's book. I cannot explain how proud that makes me.
11/20/2025Her teacher noticed the change without being told
I didn't mention the book to my daughter's teacher. Three weeks after we started reading it, her teacher called to say she noticed a big change in how my daughter handles frustration. I told her — she ordered a copy for her classroom.
11/22/2025The printing quality is exceptional
I ordered it half-expecting cheap printing given the price. The production quality is excellent — thick pages, vivid colors, solid binding. This is a book built to be loved by children, not just purchased by parents.
11/22/2025She uses Murphy's Law to calm herself down — without prompting
The moment I knew this was different: my daughter was getting frustrated with a puzzle, and without any input from me, she said 'Murphy's Law — things that can go wrong will go wrong, so what do I do now?' She's eight.
11/24/2025Most re-readable children's book I've encountered
Most children's books lose value after a few reads. This one compounds — the more my son reads it, the more he applies it to real situations, and the more useful it becomes. We're four reads in and he's still getting new things from it.
11/26/2025Turned our most anxious child into the calmest one
We have four kids and one is significantly more anxious than the others. This book — in three weeks — has moved her from most anxious to most resilient. That transformation is real and visible. Worth every dollar.
11/26/2025He used it to help a friend through a hard week at school
My son's friend was having a rough week and my son lent him the book. The friend's mom texted me the next day to ask where she could buy it. That's the best recommendation I could imagine.
11/28/2025The perfect balance of funny and smart
Books for kids are either educational or fun, rarely both. This one is genuinely both. The humor is real and the thinking exercises are genuinely challenging. My son looks forward to both equally.
11/30/2025He talked about Murphy's Law at his soccer game
My son's team was losing badly and he gathered his teammates and gave a Murphy's Law speech. He's 10. The coach pulled me aside afterward and asked where he learned that. This book.
11/29/2025The only book that replaced the iPad at bedtime
We tried every approach to reduce screen time at bedtime. Rules, rewards, punishments. Nothing worked until this book. The visual format and short format compete with screens in a way no other book does.
12/01/2025My daughter reads it to her stuffed animals
My daughter started reading her stuffed animals the Murphy's Law principles. She explains them to the toys. That kind of play — teaching concepts to others — is exactly the kind of deep learning this book creates.
12/01/2025He calls this his 'life manual'
My son calls this book his 'life manual.' He keeps it on his desk and references it when things go wrong. He's 11 and he invented this habit himself. I never told him to do that. He figured out that it works.
12/04/2025The exercises feel like games, not homework
My son describes the thinking exercises as 'the games in the book.' That framing — that problem-solving is a game — is the most valuable thing this book has given him. He approaches challenges with curiosity now, not dread.
12/04/2025Turned 'I can't do this' into 'Murphy's Law, now what'
My daughter's default response to difficulty was 'I can't do this.' Now it's 'Murphy's Law, now what?' That four-word shift represents months of trying to change her mindset through direct instruction. The book did it in three weeks.
12/04/2025The humor keeps kids engaged where lectures fail
My son switches off the moment he thinks he's being taught. This book wraps every lesson in a funny scenario so he never feels like he's being lectured. He finishes exercises without realizing they're exercises.
12/08/2025Six months later and he still picks it up
We've had this book for six months. My son still picks it up regularly. Most children's books get two reads and a shelf. This one is a reference he keeps returning to, which says everything about how good it is.
12/10/2025The price is completely justified
I almost didn't buy this because the price seemed high for a children's book. Then I read the FAQ and did the math — the same resilience principles from a child psychologist cost hundreds of dollars. This costs $35. It's the easiest decision I've made.
12/09/2025My son gifted his copy to his best friend
My son decided his best friend needed this book more than he did and gave away his copy. Then asked if he could have a replacement. That act of generosity — sharing something that helps you — is exactly what this book teaches.
12/10/2025The jump-anywhere format is perfect for her brain
My daughter jumps around books rather than reading linearly. Most books don't work for her style. This one is designed to be opened anywhere, which means she actually finishes exercises instead of losing her place and giving up.
12/10/2025Worth ordering before the next print run sells out
I waited too long for the first batch and missed it. Got one from the second print run. If you're thinking about ordering, don't wait — they sell out for a reason.
12/13/2025My daughter used a principle from this book in a school essay
My daughter's school assignment was to write about a life philosophy. She wrote about Murphy's Law and how setbacks are information, not failures. Her teacher gave it a standing ovation. She was nine years old.
12/16/2025Changed our family vocabulary around failure
We used to say 'it's okay' when things went wrong. Now we say 'Murphy's Law — what's the plan?' That reframe — from comfort to action — came entirely from this book and has changed how our whole family handles problems.
12/16/2025Recommended by our pediatrician after we mentioned it
Our pediatrician asked about it after my son mentioned Murphy's Law at his checkup. She now recommends it for anxious children. That endorsement from someone who sees children every day tells you everything.
12/18/2025The free activity ebook was a genuine bonus
The free activity eBook that comes with the order was better than expected — more exercises, more scenarios. My daughter treats the two together as one complete set. Both have been in regular use for four months.
12/17/2025The cartoons made him laugh for the first time about spilling something
My son cried every time he spilled anything. Then the book had a cartoon about a kid whose juice always falls. He laughed. A week later, he spilled his milk and laughed instead of crying. I cannot explain how big that is.
12/19/2025Best birthday gift for an 8-12 year old, period
I've been to three birthday parties this year. Every gift I brought was this book. Every parent has since contacted me to thank me. I've given out about 12 copies as gifts now. It's my signature gift for this age range.
12/19/2025Not just for kids — it's really for families
This book functions as a family resilience curriculum. My kids read it, but so do my wife and I. We use Murphy's Law language in family conversations. It's become a shared framework that makes hard conversations easier.
12/20/2025Daughter used it to help a friend whose parents are divorcing
My daughter's best friend was struggling with her parents' divorce. My daughter brought her this book. I don't know what they talked about, but the friend's mom reached out to thank me. Some books help in ways you can't predict.
12/24/2025He explained Murphy's Law to his grandparents at dinner
My son spent 20 minutes explaining Murphy's Law to his grandparents at Sunday dinner. He was clear, confident, and completely in command of the material. That kind of mastery comes from something he's internalized, not memorized.
12/26/2025The principles are still showing up six months later
Six months after we finished the book, my daughter still applies the principles to new situations. That stickiness — that transfer from a book scenario to real life — is what separates useful learning from temporary information.
12/27/2025The first educational purchase that paid off immediately
I've spent a lot of money on educational tools that promised a lot and delivered little. This book was different — behavioral change within two weeks. Real, observable change. I don't know how, but it works.
12/25/2025Perfect for any child who takes failure too personally
If your child cries when they make a mistake or quits when something gets hard — this book is exactly what they need. It doesn't lecture them out of perfectionism. It laughs them out of it. Gentle, effective, and lasting.
12/26/2025His confidence at school jumped visibly
My son's report card came back with a note from his teacher saying his confidence in class had jumped significantly. When I asked what changed, he pointed to the book on his desk. He'd figured out how to stop being afraid of being wrong.
12/30/2025The exercises work even without parent involvement
I worried I'd need to sit with my son through each exercise. I don't. He does them independently, comes out and tells me what he figured out, and then goes back for more. The book is self-contained in a way that actually respects children's intelligence.
12/31/2025We use it as a dinner table conversation starter
Once a week, someone picks a Murphy's Law principle at dinner and we all talk about when it applies in our lives. My wife and I participate too. It's become one of our family's best conversations. A children's book started that.
01/01/2026Helps with the 'why does everything bad happen to me' phase
My son was going through a phase where every setback felt personal and catastrophic. This book reframed that completely — not through therapy, but through humor and relatable cartoons. The 'why me' has mostly gone away.
01/03/2026The 'mistakes are data' lesson changed everything for us
That one idea — mistakes are data, not disasters — changed the entire dynamic in our household around schoolwork. My daughter stopped dreading being wrong. She started treating errors as information. That came from this book.
01/03/2026He reads it at the breakfast table without being asked
My son gets up, pours cereal, and reads Murphy's Law while he eats. That habit — unprompted, enthusiastic, daily — tells you everything about whether this book works. He's been doing it for three months.
01/06/2026Finally a children's book that doesn't talk down to children
Most educational books for this age are either too babyish or too dry. This one is genuinely smart — the humor respects children's intelligence, and the principles don't oversimplify. My daughter noticed the difference and said 'this treats me like a real person.'
01/06/2026My daughter reads a principle to herself before tests now
My daughter started a pre-test ritual: she reads a Murphy's Law principle from memory to calm herself down. I didn't teach her this. She invented it because the framework worked for her. That kind of self-created coping tool is rare.
01/08/2026The comic format beats every classroom curriculum I've seen
I'm a teacher. I've seen a lot of social-emotional learning materials. This book is more effective than most of what gets used in classrooms because it's designed to be enjoyed, not endured. I've recommended it to four colleagues.
01/09/2026My son gave himself a Murphy's Law pep talk before a competition
Before a swim meet, my son sat quietly for a few minutes and gave himself what he called a 'Murphy's Law pep talk.' He came second. He said 'second is just data about what to fix.' He's nine. I have no words.
01/11/2026The 60-day guarantee gave us the confidence to try it
I was on the fence about the price. The 60-day money-back guarantee made it easy to try. We didn't need the guarantee — my son was reading it the first night. But knowing it was there made the decision easier.
01/11/2026Shipped faster than expected and packaged beautifully
Ordered a Thursday, arrived by the following Wednesday. The packaging was solid — the book arrived in perfect condition. First impression matters, and Little Atlas clearly takes the unboxing experience seriously.
01/10/2026The 42 exercises are genuinely varied — not repetitive
I expected the exercises to all feel the same after the first few. They don't. Each one presents a genuinely different scenario and a different kind of thinking challenge. My daughter says 'I've never seen that one before' even on her second read.
01/13/2026Now I buy this for every child in our social circle
This is my default gift for any child ages 8-12 in our social circle. Every parent reports the same outcome: their child actually reads it, quotes it, and applies it. At this point I've given out at least 15 copies.
01/14/2026The vocabulary this book gave my son is remarkable
My son now has language for experiences he didn't know how to describe before. 'Murphy's Law.' 'Mistakes are data.' 'If it can go wrong, prepare.' That vocabulary is a tool he uses every day in real situations.
01/16/2026It models adult resilience behaviors in child-accessible ways
What this book really does — which I noticed once I read it myself — is model the exact behaviors adults know are useful (reframing, humor, flexible thinking) in a format accessible to an 8-year-old. That's harder to accomplish than it looks.
01/18/2026My daughter wants to be a 'Murphy's Law expert'
My daughter has decided she wants to be a 'Murphy's Law expert.' She's memorized most of the principles and explains them to anyone who will listen. Whatever she does with that enthusiasm later in life, I'm grateful for what started it.
01/17/2026Worth every penny for the resilience shift alone
If you have an anxious, perfectionistic, or easily frustrated child — buy this book. Not because it promises to fix anything, but because it genuinely reframes failure in a way that sticks. We saw a shift in two weeks. It's been four months and it's still holding.
01/19/2026The physical quality matches the content quality
The book feels premium — thick pages, quality printing, hardcover binding. My son threw it in his backpack for six weeks and it still looks great. When a book is built to be used, children actually use it.
01/19/2026Bought on a Friday. Behavior change by Monday.
I bought this on a Friday evening. By Monday morning, my daughter was handling a dropped breakfast with a laugh instead of tears. Four days. I don't know what else I can say. The book just works.
01/21/2026Our family's favorite conversation topic is now Murphy's Law
Our kids bring up Murphy's Law at dinner, in the car, during homework. It's become the lens through which we process setbacks as a family. I didn't plan for a children's book to become a family philosophy. But here we are.
01/21/2026Five stars without hesitation
I leave very few reviews but I felt compelled to leave one for this book. My son went from crying at every mistake to laughing at most of them in the span of three weeks. That is a remarkable achievement for any book. Five stars without hesitation.
01/26/2026Great book, wish there were more pages
My son loved every page but finished it quickly. I'd give it 5 stars if it were 200 pages instead of 128. That's a minor complaint — the quality of what's there is excellent. He's already asking for more.
01/26/2026Very good, needed a few readings to click
My daughter took three sessions before the principles started sticking. Once they did, the change was visible. I think younger kids (under 8) might need more parent involvement than we expected. Overall still really solid.
01/25/2026Quality content, delivery took a bit longer than stated
The book itself is excellent — my son loves it and we've noticed real changes in how he handles setbacks. Shipping took a little longer than the estimated window, which was the only minor frustration. Content 5 stars, logistics 3 stars.
01/29/2026Strong book with one caveat
Great content and real results with my daughter. One thing I'd change: a few exercises feel slightly repetitive once you're past the halfway point. But the variety is still far better than any other growth mindset book we've tried.
01/30/2026Works well for some kids, needs patience with others
My 9-year-old clicked with this immediately. My 11-year-old needed more time and parent-led discussion before the principles started landing. For us, the results were different per child, but both eventually benefited.
01/29/2026Good book, took a few weeks to see results
We didn't see immediate change — it took about three weeks before my son started applying the principles spontaneously. Once he did, the change was clear. I'd tell other parents to be patient through the first week or two.
01/31/2026Very good quality, minor note on the eBook delivery
The physical book is excellent quality and my daughter loves it. The free eBook took a couple of days to arrive by email, which confused us initially. Once it came, it was great. Just set expectations on the digital delivery timing.
02/03/2026Great for anxious kids, less impactful for easygoing ones
My anxious daughter benefited enormously from this book. My easy-going son enjoyed it but didn't show the same behavioral shifts. Makes sense — the book is addressing a real problem, and if you don't have that problem acutely, the impact is subtler.
02/03/2026The illustrations are excellent, some exercises more than others
The illustration quality is exceptional throughout. Some exercises are more memorable than others — there are a few in the middle section that feel slightly less dynamic. But the overall arc is strong and the best exercises are truly excellent.
02/03/2026Good purchase overall with a note for parents of older kids
My 12-year-old found a few exercises a bit easy. For older children in the age range, some exercises might feel slight. For 8-10 year olds, the level is absolutely perfect. Slightly less challenging for the older end of the range.
02/07/2026Very useful book with a slightly slow start
The first 20 pages were a bit slow before my son got engaged. Once he hit the thinking exercises he was fully hooked. If your child is a reluctant reader, stick with them through the start — the payoff is worth it.
02/06/2026Great content, took a weekend to convince my son to start
My son resisted for a weekend before opening it. Once he did, he read for three hours straight. The opening pages need to hook a reluctant reader faster, in my opinion. But once hooked, it's a five-star book.
02/07/2026Excellent for the right child, strong recommendation with caveats
This book is exceptional for anxious, perfectionist, or resilience-challenged children. For kids who are already confident and resilient, the impact will be less visible (though still positive). Know your child before buying.
02/10/2026Really solid book, parents should read it too
I'd recommend parents read this before their child does. It helps you facilitate conversations about the principles, and — honestly — some of the lessons apply directly to adult life. A 4-star review only because I think the recommended age range could go slightly younger with parent involvement.
02/10/2026Quality book with a slight packaging note
The book arrived with a small dent on one corner of the cover — not a printing issue, just a packaging one. The interior was perfect and my son didn't care. Would still buy again, but worth noting for those who care about pristine condition.
02/13/2026Strong content, my 8-year-old needed help with a few exercises
A few of the thinking exercises required more explanation than the book provides. My 8-year-old and I worked through them together, which ended up being great quality time. If your child is on the younger end of the range, expect some parent involvement.
02/15/2026Great for girls too — not just boys
I was slightly worried the Murphy's Law framing might feel more 'boy-coded.' My daughter disagreed — she loved it immediately. The scenarios cover a broad range of situations that any child relates to. My only note: more female characters in the cartoons would be a plus.
02/15/2026Good book that exceeded low expectations
I bought this somewhat skeptically. I've been burned by educational books before. This one is genuinely good — the cartoons are funny, the principles are practical, and my son is actually applying them. I'd give it 5 stars if not for modest initial skepticism still lurking.
02/14/2026Does what it says, takes a couple weeks to see it
The book does exactly what it promises. The caveat is that visible behavioral change took about two weeks, not two days. Parents expecting immediate transformation should calibrate expectations. The change comes — just give it time.
02/17/2026Very good, slightly repetitive in the middle third
The beginning and end of the book are exceptional. The middle third has a couple of exercises that feel similar to ones earlier in the book. That's a small critique of an otherwise excellent product that my son clearly loves.
02/20/2026Solid book that does what it says on the tin
No surprises here — the book is exactly what the description says it is. My daughter engaged with it, applied the principles, and has become measurably better at handling setbacks. Four stars because it took a few weeks longer than I expected to see results.
02/18/2026Well made, slight wish for more exercises
42 exercises sounds like a lot but my daughter went through them quickly because she loved it so much. I wish there were more. A follow-up volume would be an instant purchase. Current content is 5 stars; I'm taking one star off for wishing there was more of it.
02/20/2026Great resource, especially for anxious children
My daughter struggles with anxiety and this book gave her a framework she could use independently. Four stars rather than five because it took about three sessions before she was fully comfortable with the format. Excellent resource once she found her groove.
02/21/2026Really good, the free eBook was a nice plus
The physical book is excellent. The free Activity eBook that came with it was a nice addition — more exercises to do after finishing the main book. Combined, it's a very complete purchase. Would have been 5 stars but one exercise felt slightly underdeveloped.
02/24/2026Lived up to the reviews with one small exception
Every review I read said this book was transformative. For my son, it was very good — real change, lasting impact — but maybe not the overnight transformation some reviews describe. Still excellent and I'd buy it again. Four solid stars.
02/24/2026Good quality, my daughter needed a gentle push to start
The cover didn't immediately appeal to my daughter. Once I read the first two pages with her, she was hooked and finished it independently. Don't judge this book by its cover — the interior is exceptional. Five stars for content, four overall for the cover design.
02/27/2026Works best as shared reading for younger children
For my 7-year-old (technically below the age range), it worked best as shared reading. For my 10-year-old, completely independent. The book is well-designed for the 8-12 range and works below that with parental involvement. Very good purchase.
02/28/2026Great content, our second copy holds up perfectly
We ordered a second copy after the first got too well-loved (bent cover, minor water damage from a backpack incident). The second copy holds up well. One star off only because the cover — while beautiful — could be more robust on the corners for active children.
03/01/2026Good book, strong results, recommend with patience as prerequisite
This book delivers what it promises but requires patience from parents who expect instant results. The principles build over multiple sessions. Parents who read a few exercises with their child initially, then let the child take over, see the best results. Very good product.
03/01/2026Solid 4-star book with 5-star potential for the right child
For anxious, perfectionist children this is a 5-star book without question. For confident, resilient children who don't struggle with setbacks, it's still a very good book — just less visibly transformative. Know your child's needs and buy accordingly.
03/03/2026Good concept, delivery fell short for my child
My son is 12 and felt the exercises were a bit easy for him. He's at the older end of the age range and I think he may have aged past the target audience slightly. The concept is excellent — I can see it working perfectly for a younger child.
03/02/2026Interesting approach, didn't click for my daughter
My daughter tried the book for two weeks but didn't find the humor compelling. She said the scenarios felt a bit predictable. I suspect this is more of a fit issue than a quality issue — other reviews suggest it works brilliantly for many kids.
03/05/2026Arrived with a damaged spine
The content is good and my son has been reading it, but the book arrived with a slight crack in the spine. Customer service resolved the issue quickly and professionally, but it was a frustrating first impression for what is otherwise a quality product.
03/06/2026Works for some kids, not all
I bought this for two of my children. My 9-year-old loves it and has changed noticeably. My 11-year-old put it down after the first session and hasn't returned to it. Some children need a different entry point to these ideas.
03/09/2026Good book, seemed too short for the price
The content is genuinely good and my daughter enjoyed it. I was surprised that 128 pages went by so quickly. For $35 I expected to feel like we got more. That's a subjective value judgment — the content itself is excellent quality.
03/07/2026My son liked it, I wasn't fully convinced by the exercises
My son engaged with the book and found the cartoons funny. I read through several exercises and found a few that felt slightly underdeveloped — presenting a scenario without a fully satisfying resolution. The majority are excellent; a small number felt incomplete to me.
03/08/2026Decent book, took longer to see results than expected
We're six weeks in and I'm starting to see some positive changes in my daughter's response to setbacks. It took longer than most reviews suggested. Still seeing good results, but wanted to set realistic expectations for parents who might expect faster change.
03/10/2026Good book for the right audience, not right for us
My son is easygoing and doesn't struggle much with setbacks — he already bounces back quickly. The book is clearly well-designed, but we weren't the target audience. For a child who genuinely struggles with resilience, I'd expect this to be highly effective.
03/11/2026Solid purchase, wish it had more Spanish-language content
We are a bilingual family and my son reads in both languages. The English content is excellent. A bilingual or Spanish edition would make this a perfect purchase for families like ours. As it stands, very good but not ideal for our specific situation.
03/13/2026Good quality overall, mixed results so far
We're three weeks in. My daughter has read it twice and laughs at the cartoons but I haven't yet seen the behavioral changes other reviews describe. I'll give it more time — perhaps my expectations were set too high by the five-star reviews. Will update if results change.
03/16/2026Content is good, binding came loose at page 40
We're three weeks in and the binding has started coming loose between pages 38 and 42. The content is genuinely good and my son uses it daily, which is probably why the wear showed up faster. Customer service sent a replacement quickly.
03/17/2026Right concept, slightly wrong age for my child
My daughter just turned 13 and is at the top end of the target range. Some exercises felt a bit below her level. If I'd bought this at 10 or 11, I think it would have been perfect. Good book — timing matters for this one.
03/18/2026Good product, shipping was slow
The book itself is good and my son has been reading it since it arrived. Shipping took 14 business days to our location, which is at the outer edge of the stated window. Good content, slower logistics than ideal.
03/18/2026Generally good, exercises uneven in quality
About 35 of the 42 exercises are excellent — genuinely funny, well-designed, memorable. About 7 feel like they needed one more draft before going to print. Not a fatal flaw in a 42-exercise book, but worth noting for those expecting uniform excellence throughout.
03/20/2026The best investment in my child's mindset I've made
My daughter handles setbacks with a calm I never expected to see at age 9. She laughs, she thinks, she acts. This book gave her a framework that I couldn't give her through talking alone. Simple, funny, and genuinely effective.
